Composed of 100% sustainable rubber from the Hevea brasiliensi tree, Natursutten pacifiers are softer than silicone, hypoallergenic and free of BPA, PVC, phthalates and other toxic chemicals.
The pacifier's oversized shield touches baby's nose: a feature designed to mimic breastfeeding as closely as possible. Natursutten offers round pacifiers and two sizes of orthodontic pacifiers, one for babies 0-6 months old, and one for babies 6 months and older. Priced at about $10 each, these non-toxic, eco-friendly pacifiers are much pricier than their conventional competitors.
I'm not a big fan of pacifiers, but after a few months of sleep deprivation I decided to try the Natursutten newborn orthodontic model. I use it sparingly, but the paci does calm my little one when he wakes from sleep and isn't fully comforted by nursing or cuddling. I didn't mind paying more for the Natursutten-the peace of mind I get from knowing my little one's paci is completely non-toxic is worth the cost. In addition, although the manufacturer recommends replacing the pacifiers about every month, mine have held up nicely for much longer, making them cheaper in the long run than lower quality models.
